Dedicated to the memory of Holly Marie McEvoy

This site is a dedication to baby Holly Marie McEvoy. She is much loved and will always be remembered. Holly was born on 3rd April 2008 and fell asleep on 4th April 2008 aged just 5 hours 8 minutes old.

When mummy fell pregnant with Holly, her waters went at 18 weeks which was the same time in which Angel lost her waters. It was then we was told our baby daughter was going to be born within the next 48 hours and she wouldn’t survive. Mummy went in to labour and haemorrhaged but our precious little fighter didn’t want to come. So the pregnancy continued. Holly was holding on in the womb without any waters. Every day was a success to pass and we treasured each and every second of each day that passed. At 22 weeks mummy had a routine scan. We was supposed to find out if we was having a little boy or little girl but Holly being the little lady that she is kept her legs together. So we didn’t find out but we found out she was developing normally. At 23 weeks mummy started to get Braxton hicks but thought nothing of it as it was minor pains and wasn’t even in need of any pain relief. Mummy mentioned this to the doctor at her twice weekly check ups. 23 weeks 6 days, mummy wakes up knowing that that day was going to be the day our baby was going to be born. Mummy tried everything in her power to slow things and hold on to the pregnancy just a little longer but nothing worked. We phoned for an ambulance where mummy was taken quickly to hospital. Mummy’s contractions where getting worse. The doctor checked mummy’s womb to see if Holly was coming but there was no show or sign at that time. The second time he checked, mummy’s womb was still fully closed. 2 seconds later (literally) mummy felt something and knew our baby was going to be born. The medical staff had just finished setting up the baby crash equipment when our precious little baby girl came in to this world. Mummy kept saying "please don’t let my baby die" she said this a few times. daddy was stood watching with shock, fear and worry written all over his face. The midwife took Holly under the heater on the crash equipment and cleared her tiny lungs. We heard the tiniest of whimpers which was a massive relief for us both. But the nightmare that was going to snatch away our dreams was just unfolding. Holly was rushed to the neonatal intensive care unit as she was extremely young and needed urgent help. The staff at kings college hospital fought so hard and so did our little girl who battled for 5 hours for her little life with the help of the hospital staff. Holly weighted 1lb 8 and a half ounces which was fantastic for a baby born at that gestation. She was only supposed to be weighing in at around 1lb. The time came when the consultant said we had to turn off our baby daughters life support machine and that she’d pass away a few minutes later without it. But holly proved everyone wrong and 5 hours 8 minutes passed when she took her final breaths in mummy and daddy’s arms. She should have spent a much longer time in our arms. But she’ll stay forever in our hearts with baby Angel. So her big sister baby Angel (12.08.07) came down to take her big sister home to heavens nursery. Myself and Victoria have 2 amazingly beautiful little girls who are not here with us on earth but will forever and always be with us in our hearts.

Holly you was such a little fighter, our beautiful blonde haired, long legged, chubby baby. Hehe. You was a wee stunner. The both of you Angel & Holly touched the lives and hearts of so many. You are missed more then words would ever be able to tell you by mummy and daddy and all the family. Until we meet again play safe and rest easy baby girls.
